We are currently accepting registrations for our 2010-2011 Confirmation classes. If you are interested in joining Risen Savior's Confirmation program, please contact the Youth Office.
Risen Savior has a 2 (or 3, or 4) year Confirmation program. We follow the requirements of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. In order to be Confirmed, you must have 1 prior year of recent faith formation and be in high school. Our Confirmation program generally starts at the beginning of the 8th grade year, and participants choose to be confirmed at the end of their 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade years.
We treat Confirmation like an apprenticeship; therefore, our students do a lot more service (like we, as Catholics, are called to do) and less classwork than other programs.
Our program consists of 6 classes on topics such as scripture, the Eucharist, the Nicene Creed, social justice, etc. Attendance at all classes is mandatory.
Students are also required to participate in group projects like the Pasole Ole Special Olympics Walk, helping with the annual Halloween Carnival, Birthday Party for Jesus, Children's Stations of the Cross, the Birthright Carnation Benefit, and more.
Our Confirmation students also participate in a social justice project. They find a social justice issue which is near and dear to their hearts and then they do something about it to make the world a better place. These projects are presented at our annual Social Justice Doughnut Sunday (the first Sunday of February).
Students also serve the church community by participating in any number of our ministries.
