Teen Ministry is for middle and high school youth to come together, pray, learn something about our faith, do service, and (of course!) build community.

Join us overnight July 30th to 31st from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM in the Youth Center!

Our YRT will lead you in games with water balloon, sports, shaving cream games, contests, fun with jello, watching movies (G&PG only), a variety/talent show, fun with friends, and more!!!

Please register for this event by Sunday, July 25th.

*We are also in need of 2 chaperones who are 21 years of age or older and have taken the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Workshop.*

You will need a signed permission slip and $10 to attend.  Please bring snacks and drinks to share, a sleeping bag, pillow, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb/brush, bring comfortable (respectable) clothing (to change into).

This lock-in is for middle and high school youth.

If you are planning on being Confirmed on May 1st, 2011, you need to sign up for and begin your ministry!

Don't forget to register for next year and participate in your ministry (if it meets during the summer)!!!

We will see you for Confirmation Orientation on Sunday, August 22nd from 6:30-8:30 PM in the Marian Center Gathering Hall.

We are currently accepting registrations for our 2010-2011 Confirmation classes.  If you are interested in joining Risen Savior's Confirmation program, please contact the Youth Office.

Risen Savior has a 2 (or 3, or 4) year Confirmation program.  We follow the requirements of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.  In order to be Confirmed, you must have 1 prior year of recent faith formation and be in high school.  Our Confirmation program generally starts at the beginning of the 8th grade year, and participants choose to be confirmed at the end of their 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade years.

We treat Confirmation like an apprenticeship; therefore, our students do a lot more service (like we, as Catholics, are called to do) and less classwork than other programs.

Our program consists of 6 classes on topics such as scripture, the Eucharist, the Nicene Creed, social justice, etc.  Attendance at all classes is mandatory.

Students are also required to participate in group projects like the Pasole Ole Special Olympics Walk, helping with the annual Halloween Carnival, Birthday Party for Jesus, Children's Stations of the Cross, the Birthright Carnation Benefit, and more.

Our Confirmation students also participate in a social justice project.  They find a social justice issue which is near and dear to their hearts and then they do something about it to make the world a better place.  These projects are presented at our annual Social Justice Doughnut Sunday (the first Sunday of February).

Students also serve the church community by participating in any number of our ministries.

We will be attending the National Catholic Youth Conference in November of 2011!

We will be discussing helping at Confirmation Orientation as well as getting to know each other better.  Don't forget to turn your $25 payment in at the Main Office, Youth Office, or the participant meeting by August 15th!

Our meetings for July are as follows:

Due to a lack of response, our meeting for Thursday, July 8th, has been canceled.

Thursday, July 29th, 6:30-9:00 PM. We will meet at Hoot's (3501 Vista Alameda NE).  Permission slip is required as well as the Hoot's waiver.  The cost is $10 and will include 2 slices of pizza and a drink. ~ RSVP to the Youth Office by Thursday, July 22nd.

We will not be meeting July 1st, 8th, 15th, or 22nd.

We will be planning the Confirmation Retreat at Camp Oro Quay on Saturday to Sunday, September 18th to 19th, 2010.

Currently, J.P., Gabbi, Alyssa, Patrick, Amelia, Andrew, Rick, Rebecca, Allie, Jen, Matt, Garrett, Thomas, Carla, Amanda, Brandi, Daniel, Jevanyn, and Luke are signed up to lead.  Please remember, the September 12th meeting is also a planning meeting for this retreat.

YRT meets every 4th Sunday of the month from 6:00 - 9:00 PM in the Youth Center unless otherwise noted. Upcoming meetings: Sundays: September 12th (11-1), September 26th, October 24th
